A former Governor of Kano State and leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on Sunday hosted key opposition figures at his Kano residence as part of activities marking the Sallah celebrations.
Among those who attended the gathering were the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi; Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde; and former Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson.
Kwankwaso disclosed the visit via his official social media handles, describing it as a moment of shared celebration and goodwill.
“I am delighted to host Their Excellencies, Peter Obi, Seyi Makinde, and Seriake Dickson at my Kano residence for this joyful Sallah celebration. I wish everyone peace, blessings, and prosperity,” he said.

The high-profile visit comes amid ongoing political consultations and realignments across party lines ahead of future electoral contests. Analysts say such engagements may point to renewed efforts at coalition-building within Nigeria’s opposition bloc.

Although details of the closed-door discussions were not made public, the meeting has drawn attention within political circles, given the stature of the individuals involved.

However, details of the meeting is not yet made public but many political analysts believed that the meeting’s outcome will surely be a force to reckon with in the national political arena.
