Kidnappers of the Federal Government College Birnin Yawuri, Kebbi state said they have married off the school girls abducted from the college a fortnight ago.
Bandits raided the federal college on June 17, abducting schoolchildren after killing one policeman and wounding others.
Parents of the abducted schoolgirls raised the alarm in an interview with BBC Hausa on Sunday.
The parents said the bandits called to inform them that that their daughters have been married off.
They said the bandits sent them footages indicating that their daughters were already married.
In the interview, one of the parents said whenever they called the kidnappers, they would tell them that their children are safe and healthy.
However, he said the kidnappers were informing them that they did not want negotiate with them but the government.
One of the parents said: “Sometimes they call and give us our daughters to talk to us. If your child has your number then they will call and talk to you, But I have never spoken with my daughter since the time they were abducted.”
He said since the abduction, only about 10 of the schoolgirls were allowed to speak to their parents.
He said the parents of some of the students held a meeting with the Kebbi state government. But two weeks after, nothing was heard from the government.
He appealed to the Kebbi State Government to come to their aid and facilitate the release of their children.
