The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), on Tuesday, said it has registered 43,000 pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj.
Saudi Arabia has allocated 95, 000 pilgrims to Nigeria – 75,000 for the state quota and 20,000 for private tour operators.
This was revealed by the commission in a statement signed by its Assistant Director, Information and Publications, Fatima Sanda Usara, on Tuesday.
The announcement was made after a meeting between the commission, the State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board executive secretaries, and airline representatives.
The meeting is to assess the level of preparedness of the State Pilgrims’ Boards, the statement said.
In his opening speech, NAHCON Chairman Professor Abdullah Saleh Usman said the Hajj industry is in the last lap of preparation before the commencement of the 2025 Hajj season.
He called on the states to update NAHCON on the level each state has reached in visa production, vaccination, bag procurement and other sundry matters.
