Monday night’s devastating attack on the Abuja to Kaduna passenger train, which resulted in the death of eight persons, injuries to a dozen more and the abduction of a yet unspecified number of people, was carried out by the terror group Jama’atu Ansarul Muslimeena Fi Biladissunah [JAMB], popularly known as Ansaru, a senior government official told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE.
Only a day earlier, there had been a shocking attack on a taxiing aircraft at Kaduna Airport, which the sources are now attributing to Ansaru as well.
The methods of both attacks departed from the antics of the Northwestern bandits, who are essentially after money.
The attack on both train and airport appeared to be intended to score a point, embarrass government and security agencies, create panic in the general populace, and send a message to the elite who travel by air and rail that they too, are not safe.
