The Presidency has advised people clamoring for restructuring in the country to take their agitation to the National Assembly.
Some prominent Nigerian, including President of Ohanaeze-Ndigbo, Chief John Nwodo, Chieftain of Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo and Arewa Consultative Forum, Chief Audu Ogbeh, said at the Daily Trust Dialogue on Thursday in Abuja that there was an urgent need to restructure the country for it to attain its full potentials.
But the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Sherhu, advised proponents of restructuring to approach the legislature.
Also, spokesperson for the Senate, Ajibola Basiru, described restructuring as a just a mere “slogan”, and called on the advocates of restructuring, who he said had submitted memoranda to the Senate Committee on Constitution Review to meet their senators with a view to educating them better on the type of restructuring they were advocating.
