The inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has said the police is a specialised institution and untrainable individuals shouldn’t be recruited into it.
He made the remark while responding to questions from journalists about the recruitment controversy between the Police Force and the Police Service Commission (PSC), on the sidelines of a conference in Abuja, on Thursday.
He controversy surrounding the recruitment of police constables as really appalling, as he highlighted the rigorous standards expected of officers.
According to Egbetokun, the police management is wary of recruiting individuals deemed untrainable or unsuitable for police duties.
“The Nigeria Police Force is a specialised institution that is not meant for all Nigerians,” he stated.
