The Emir of Jemaa in Kaduna State, Alhaji Muhammadu Isa Muhammadu II, recently hosted Muslims and Christians to Iftar (breaking of fast), at his palace in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government headquarters.
The emir said the get-together was meant to further strengthen the existing peaceful coexistence among those in the emirate.
He said there is relative peace in southern part of the state compared to other areas and called upon all stakeholders to work together in and root out criminals in the area.
The Emir then prayed for peace, health, wisdom, and more fruitful years for the emir.
Also, the Chairman, Jema’a Local Government, Yunana Markus Barde, who was represented by the Council’s Vice Chairman, Mrs. Christy Usman Yori said the Emir is a lover of peace, adding that the event was impressive considering the diverse group that attended.
Representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Rev. Ben Amos and Malam Garba Alhassan respectively praised the Emir as a peace champion.
They commended his efforts in fostering mutual respect and cooperation between Muslims and Christians. They also urged him to advocate for the swift completion of road construction projects in Kafanchan, citing safety concerns that have lingered for almost three years.
