Rainstorm killed at least two and destroyed over 200 houses three communities in Wamakko local government area of Sokoto state.
Over 144 animals were also killed following a heavy down pour four days ago.
The spokesman of the state Ministry of Environment, Abubakar Ghani, said the affected communities are Ja’o’je, Gidan Yero and Gidan Bubu.
He said the women were killed at Ja’oje by a collapsed buildings.
He said that, the combined team of Sokoto Emergency Management Agency, National Emergency Management Agency and International Organization For Migration were in the three villages for on the spot assessment.
