Over 50 houses were destroyed by rainstorm which occurred Sunday night to Monday morning in some communities in Qu’an Pan local government area of Plateau State.
Sources said the rain was accompanied by heavy wind which blew up rooftops, rendering many people homeless.
Chairman of the council, Abdulmalik Yusuf Haruna, in a statement by his media aide Mathias Yengoet Dajan, said over 30 government structures including Legislative Chamber, Magistrate Court, blocks of classrooms and Police station were destroyed by the rainstorm.
He assured that the council would take necessary steps to attract support from state government and private individuals.
