After holding Paris Saint-Germain to a 1-1 tie, Reims captain Yunis Abdelhamid poked fun at the triumvirate of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe. After Neymar gave the hosts the lead in the 51st minute, Folarin Balogun netted the equalizer late in the game to steal a point away from PSG.
After the game, Abdelhamid criticized PSG’s highly touted offensive trio, claiming that while they press when they are in the lead, they seldom follow back and help the team when they are defending.
Speaking with journalists, Abdelhamid stated: “Because Messi, Mbappé, and Neymar don’t defend, it was simple to get the ball out of the defense. We were aware that once we crossed this initial line, they would stop contributing to the group’s defensive effort. On that, we worked. We sought to profit from it, and we were successful in doing so. We had so many opportunities because of this.”
