The crisis between the Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police has continued with the Joint Union Congress of the PSC asking President Bola Tinubu to immediately remove the Inspector-general of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun.
The PSC union said it made the call for Egbetokun’s removal because he was undermining the police recruitment process, just as it also denied corruption allegations levelled against it by the Police.
Chairman of the Association of Senior Civil Servent of Nigeria (ASCSN) and Joint Union Congress of the PSC, Adoyi Adoyi, expressed displeasure over what he described as false allegation against the PSC.
Egebtokun had last week through the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the recruitment conducted by the PSC was fraught with fraud and irregularities.
However, Adoyi said there was reliable information indicating that elements within the Police Force plotted to pad over 1,000 names into the recruitment list.
