The Kano State Government has announced relaxing of the earlier imposed curfew to restrict movement as measure taken to avert violence protest in the state to 6:000am to 6:00pm and this means people of the state can move from 6 AM to 6 PM.
This announcement was made by the Kano State Commissioner of Police, Dogo Salman, following a joint security meeting with Governor Abba Yusuf at the Government House and other security agencies in the state.
The Commissioner explained that the Kano state government and all relevant security stakeholders are commitment to maintaining peace and order in the state while gradually easing restrictions to allow residents to resume their daily activities as usual.
He noted that the decision to relax the curfew hours reflects the improved security situation and the efforts of the security agencies in restoring normalcy in Kano.
It can be recalled that the Kano state government had imposed a 24 hours curfew on the first of August 2024 and later relaxed the curfew last Friday to 8:00am to 2:00pm. Already, residents have began to raise concern over lack of basic food commodity within communities as shops had ran out of stock while major markets remained closed.
