Hunger protesters have reportedly stormed the residence of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to demonstrate against the hike in the cost of living in the country.
A video showed the protesters in large numbers on Tuesday, chanting and carrying placards with various inscriptions.
Heavily armed security operatives wielding rifles were seen guarding Wike’s residence.
One of the demonstrators said, “that’s Wike’s house,” just as others were singing the old national anthem.
