Angry youth blocked Kaduna -Abuja highway protesting against bandits who attacked and abducted residents at Anguwar Magaji in Chikun local government area of the state.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that the abduction took place at the wee hours of Saturday when some gunemen stormed the community.
It was also gathered that a minor was killed by the bandits as they abducted family members of the village head and other residents.
The protesting youth from Kakau, Juji, Angwar Madaki, Angwar Magaji, Gwanin Gora communities blocked the busy Kaduna-Abuja highway holding leaves and chanting that they need security .
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE observed that travelers got stranded on the highway creating heavy gridlock.
Mr. Ozaya, a protester, lamented the high level of insecurity in Angwar Magaji and neighbouring communities.
He said bandits always abduct residents at farms and also at home at will.
“We are protesting because of insecurity in our communities. We are tired of paying ransom and just yesterday night they came and killed a minor and one other person here in Angwar Magaji,” he said.
He also explained that the bandits have abducted the family members of the village Head of Angwar Magaji.
The spokesperson of Kaduna State Police Command, Jalige Mohammed, confirmed the development, but said the command has sent the Area Commander to visit the community to find out the real problem.
