In Kaduna, protesters have targeted and looted the offices of the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Authority (KASTLEA) and the Kaduna Investment and Promotions Agency (KADIPA).
The demonstration, involving hundreds of youths—primarily underage—was driven by dissatisfaction with hunger and Federal Government policies. The protesters, aged 8 to 25, took to the streets of Kaduna Metropolis with placards and leaves, demanding change.
21st century reports that security forces responded with tear gas when some protesters gathered at the government house gate.
KASTLEA staff member who didn’t want to be named confirmed the attack on their Zone 3 office in the metropolis but denied a report that the building was set ablaze.
“The office was vandalized, but we are still evaluating the full extent of the damage, including the adjacent KADIPA office, which was also attacked,” he stated.
Attempts to contact the State Police Command Public Relations Officer ASP Mansir Hassan failed as he couldn’t be reached on phone.
