Some members of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State have challenged the party chairman in the state to publicly name those he claimed ha been contracted to destroy the party.
The chairman, Bello Goronyo, had during a recent stakeholders meeting of the party alleged that, some members of the party were contracted to destroy the PDP in Sokoto state.
Addressing newsmen at the former Governor Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa’s residence in Sokoto, leader of the group, Professor Hamza Maishanu said they were disturbed by these statements.
“We sought an audience with the chairman to get further clarification but he declined. We therefore want the chairman to tell us those contracted; who contracted them; how much was paid and when?
“Answers to these pertinent questions are necessary for the wellbeing of the party in the state. If e does not have these answers, he should then publicly retract his statements,” they said
The group also vowed to resist imposition of leaders in the forthcoming state, local government and ward congresses of the party.
