President Muhammadu Buhari, has reportedly held a closed-door meeting with state governors and some members of the National Assembly elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to The PUNCH, although the purpose of the meeting was not disclosed, it may not be unconnected with the primaries.
The party had revised its timeline for the primaries many times within the last two weeks.
It also postponed its screening for the presidential aspirants indefinitely.
The paper quoting Aso Villa source said the meeting with governors would determine the direction of the primaries and consensus option.
The source President Buhari might also hold a similar with the party’s presidential aspirants for the same purpose soon.
Buhari had hinted that he has a preferred presidential candidate but failed to unveil the identity of same.
