Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal possessed the right credentials to address the myriads of problems plaguing the country, a group, Tambuwal Consolidation Team (TCT), has said.
In a statement by Buhari Dasuki, national coordinator and Fabian Okoye, national secretary, the group said the country is in urgent need of a focused, innovative and decisive leader to move it on the path of development and growth, adding that Tambuwal is the right person for the job.
“Governor Tambuwal has traversed the legislative and executive policy spaces. He led the House of Representatives as Speaker at a very turbulent period in the history of Nigeria. He restored the prestige of the legislature and was responsive to the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians. His legislative experience will come in handy if he becomes president,” the group noted.
It said at a point where Nigerians are yearning for a youthful president who can withstand the rigours of leadership, the former speaker of the House of Representatives experience would come handy.
“Despite Governor Tambuwal’s meteoric rise in politics and his achievements, he remains humble and simple. He is compassionate and ever ready to listen and address the problems of the weak, vulnerable and underserved persons in our society.
“He has all it takes to steady the “ship” of the Nigerian state. Nigerians must not miss this opportunity to enthrone a patriotic, Pan-Nigerian and cosmopolitan President to commence the arduous task of returning Nigeria to the path of sustainable peace, progress and development,” it noted.
