Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has left his position as Manchester United manager, the club has confirmed.
Following Manchester United’s 4-1 defeat by Watford on Saturday, Solskjaer who had been at Old Trafford since December 2018, parts company with the club.
The Manchester United legend signed a new three-year contract in July but has endured a disappointing season, with the defeat at Vicarage Road the fifth in seven Premier League matches.
Solskjaer as a striker for Man Utd won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups and one UEFA Champions League after scoring the winning goal in the 1999 final.
He was appointed caretaker manager in December 2018 following the sack of Jose Mourinho by the club.
He was confirmed the manager of Manchester United on March 2019 having led United to 14 wins in his first 19 matches in charge.
