The Katsina Police commissioner, Idrisu Dabban Dauda, has presented cheques valued at N18 million to families and next of kin of 20 police officers who died in active service.
The presentation of the cheques was part of the Inspector General of Police Family Welfare Insurance Scheme being given to families and next of kin of the deceased officers.
The spokesperson of the state command, Gambo Isa, the cheques of various amounts were presented to families of 20 deceased officers.

While presenting the cheques,Mr Dabban appreciated the efforts of the Inspector-General of Police, for improving the welfare of the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force and urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money for their betterment.
One of the benefiting families, Maryam Sabo, spoke on behalf of other beneficiaries and thanked the Inspector-General of Police for the welfare package and promised to use the money judiciously, please.
