Kaduna Police Command says its operatives repelled bandits attack and rescued five kidnapped victims along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway.

Muhammad Jaligen who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday said the incident happened on Friday.
He said the policemen were deployed to the road after receiving an information about 12pm that some bandits numbering about 10 had blocked the highway and in the process of abducting five occupants of a Volkswagen Golf vehicle with Reg.No DKA 539 TU.
Jalige said the policemen engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel and repelled the bandits “who scampered into the forest with various degrees of bullet wounds and rescued all the occupants of the vehicle safely.”
He said the victims had since been reunited with their families.
