She died on Monday as a result of injuries she sustained in domestic violence with her husband
The state police announced the death of the lady, but denied that it has arrested the pastor husband of the deceased.
The state police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe it said only placed ithe man n protective custody over concerns for his safety as the family of the deceased has lodged a complaint over the circumstances of her death claiming that the husband could have played a role in her death.
Edafe, said the husband called to report the death of his wife and also expressed concern that the family of the woman was threatening him.
“The police then dispatched a team to rescue him from the house and thereafter placed him in protective custody.
“He (the husband) was the one who called to report that his wife died early this morning and that he was receiving threats from her family, who feared he might be attacked.
“It was on this basis that we went to his house and brought him in for his own safety,” the Police spokesman stated.
The police spokesperson said since the deceased family lodged a complaint, investigations have commenced to unearth the circumstances of her death.
Edafe said “We are currently investigating. In situations like this, only an autopsy can determine whether the death was natural or due to other causes.”
