Three kidnappers who abducted the wife of Benue State Commissioner of Lands and Survey, have been killed by the police.
The assailants were killed after a gun battle on Monday.
The police also rescued the commissioner’s wife, Mrs Ann Unenge, who was abducted four days ago.
The gunmen abducted the woman alongside her driver on Thursday in Makurdi.
The abduction occurred days after two housewives, including a medical doctor’s wife, were also taken away at the new GRA in Makurdi.
The kidnappers demanded N51 million ransom for the commissioner’s wife.
Benue state Governor Samuel Ortom, who went to the police headquarters, hailed the Inspector General of Police and his men in the state.
The governor ordered the demolition of the house where the deceased suspects used for their nefarious activities in line with the state’s law on kidnapping.
