The secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akure, Ondo state capital, has been closed down.
A combined team of officers of the Nigeria Police Force and Department of State Services (DSS) is now occupying the secretariat.
No official reason has been given for the latest development, it was, however, learnt that it is connected with the PDP plan to protest the continued absence and whereabouts of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
Since returning in September from a three-month medical vacation in Germany, Akeredolu’s whereabouts has remained unknown.
The governor is said to be staying at his private residence in Ibadan, Oyo state capital, this has led to the call for Akeredolu’s relinquishing his post.
The PDP on Sunday said it would protest in Akure, to know his whereabouts.
The state police spokesperson Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, was yet to react to this development as she could not be reached as at press time.
