Officers from the Kaduna State Police Command have diffused a bomb planted in Rigasa community, few kilometres to the train station.
The state Police spokesperson ASP Mohammed Jalige, who revealed this on Thursday, March 31, 2022, “the IED was planted in the area by yet to be identified persons. It was sighted by residents of the area at about 07:50 hours, who promptly reported to the police.”
He said the Command’s Explosive Ordinance Department (EOD) responded swiftly and successfully diffused the IED, without any loss of life or property.
He said the Acting Commissioner of Police, DCP Maiyaki M Baba thanked the residents of the area for their vigilance and for promptly reporting the incident, assuring that the command would always prioritize the safety of the public.
Baba also advised the general public to always report suspicious movement or persons in the areas, assuring that such information would be treated in full confidentiality.
According to him, normalcy had been restored in the area and residents were going about their normal business.
