The Financial Secretary and three other members of the St. Vincent De Paul Fire Parish of Pankshin Diocese in Plateau State had been arrested for allegedly kidnapping their two priests.
The suspects were reportedly demanding N25 million ransom to free the two priests.
The four suspected kidnappers are two Catholics, one of whom is a Church Council Secretary, one COCIN, and one non-church goer; all from the same village, Fier.
They are now helping security agencies in their investigation.
Recall that the Congregation of Missionaries Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Claretian Missionaries) has appealed for the safety and freedom of two members who were kidnapped by bandits on Thursday, 1 February.
The Provincial Secretary of Claretian Missionaries (CMF), Rev. Fr Dominic Ukpo announced on February 2 that Rev. Fr Kenneth Kanwa and his assistant, Rev. Fr Jude Nwachukwu was seized on February 1.
Fr Kanwa is the parish priest of St. Vincent De Paul Fire Parish of Pankshin Diocese in Plateau State.
