The police officer caught in a viral video allegedly extorting either N5,000 or five liters of fuel from Benin highway motorists has been fished out and summoned by the higher authorities.
The Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who disclosed this on X, said “This action is utterly condemned. The officers have been identified and summoned to Force Headquarters for necessary action.
He condemned the behaviour of the officer
“We will not tolerate any act of indiscipline or unprofessionalism. We will update the public on our decisions as soon as possible. Thanks.”
The video circulated widely on Monday, showed a police officer demanding either N5,000 or five liters of petrol from motorists who could not show proof of Electric Central Motor Registry.
