The Katsina Police Command has arrested the wife of a notorious bandit, Nura Alhaji Murnai, in Baranda village of Batsari local government area.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Gambo Isa, told journalists on Friday that Aisha Nura, 27, was arrested on Monday following an intelligence report on her husband.
He said she was apprehended while she was trying to board an Okada, noting that some of the people around began to suspect her movements and the way she was trying to hide the bag containing the money.
He said the money was counted to be N2,400,000.
Gambo said the money was for gun running, adding that her husband is a notorious gunrunner.
Aisha told journalists that it was her husband who sent her to Kaduna to collect the money from his “business partner.”
She confessed that she had been in the habit of collecting proceeds of gun running from other bandits to her husband.
