At least 22 bandits’ informants have been arrested security forces during an operation at bandits hideouts in Shiroro local government area of Niger State.
A security source told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that some of the suspects were arrested with riffles and other dangerous weapons.
He said the suspects have been taken to security facilities in Zumba town for onward movement to the Police headquarters in Minna.
The source also said security operatives
and local vigilantes on Tuesday ambushed and killed some bandits at Farindoki, a community about 50 kilometers to Minna, the state capital.
The source said some motorcycles and AK47 riffles and machine guns were recovered from the bandits.
Spokesperson of the state Police command, Wasiu Abiodun, is yet to issue a statement on the development.
