A phone snatcher has stabbed to death a senior military officer, Lt. Commodore M. Buba.
The incident happened in Kaduna on Sunday when the hoodlum attempted to rob the officer his mobile phone and other valuables.
After stabbing the officer to death, witnesses also mobbed the hoodlum to death.
The officer was confirmed death at a nearby hospital.

The senior officer who was on course at the Armed Forces and Command Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji had a flat tire while on his way returning to Jaji.
A report from the One Division in Kaduna, titled “Murder of a student officer,” explained how the incident happened.
The report states that, “At about 080430A Jun 25, *Lt Cdr M Buba (NN/3713),* a senior course student of the AFCSC Jaji was attacked and stabbed on the chest with a knife at a bus stop before Kawo flyover bridge (10.587200° 7.450018°) by a yet to be identified miscreant.
“The unfortunate incident occurred when the senior officer had a flat tire while on his way returning to Jaji and he alighted from his car trying to change the flat tyre, when the unknown assailant suddenly appeared and demanded him to handover his GSM phone.
“The senior officer refused questioning the rationale when the assailant suddenly stabbed him on the chest with a local knife.
“One Suleiman Dahiru, a local vigilante who witnessed the altercation attempted to help the senior officer but was also stabbed on the hand by the assailant too.
“The assailant was subsequently overpowered and mobbed by nearby people who also killed him on the spot. The wounded senior officer was initially rushed to Manaal Hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.
“The corpse of the deceased was subsequently evacuated to 44 NARHK mortuary for further action. Troops in plain clothes, police and other civil security agencies have been mobilised and tasked on covert operations to identify and clear all miscreants loitering around bus stops and other black spots in Kaduna Metropolis.
“Further details on the operation will be communicated in due course.”
Kaduna Police Command spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, has confirmed the incident.
