The only remaining governor on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Seyi Makinde of Oyo state had concluded plans to dump the PDP.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE learnt that preparatory to the movement, he had asked all aspirants of the party in the not to obtain forms.
A chieftain of the party in the South-West revealed that the governor would son quit the PDP.
The PDP chieftain, who is an ally of the governor, said, “I am aware the governor will leave (the PDP) any moment from now, but I don’t know the party he is going to yet.”
Also, a key member of the Makinde cabinet revealed on Saturday that the governor was assessing options before his leaving the PDP.
The cabinet member, said, “We are still discussing and considering options. It will not be too late for the people of Oyo and our aspirants.”
Also, an official in the Governor’s Office said Makinde would soon leave the party.
However, Makinde’s spokesperson, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, said the governor had not talked about any defection plan..
