The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended its National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and some other officials loyal to Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The party’s spokesperson Debo Ologunagba, announced the suspension after a marathon meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) at the National Headquarters of the party, on Saturday.
Those others suspended are the National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade, SAN; the National Organizing Secretary Umar Bature and the Deputy National Legal Adviser.
It was learnt that those suspended have not been attending meetings of the party for quite sometime
The suspension is for a month and those affected have been dragged before the PDP Disciplinary Committee.
On Friday, an Abuja high Court retrained the party from holding convention slated for Ibadan, Oyo State on November 15 and 16, 2025.
The PDP said it appeal the judgement, adding that it would not stop its preparation for the convention.
The festering power tussle for the soul of the party is one of the reasons a suit was filed to challenge the convention.
