Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have donated N10 million to assist in rebuilding the home of the party’s late women leader, Mrs Salome Abu, who was burnt alive in 2019.
Director General of the PDP Governors Forum, Cyril Maduabum, made the donation on Thursday.
The donation came about two years after the incident which elicited condemnations beyond the shores of the country.
Mrs Abuh was on 18th November, 2019, shot and set ablaze at her residence in the Ochadamu, Ofu Local Government Area of the state.
In March, 2021, a Kogi state high court, convicted and sentenced one Ocholi Edicha to 12 years and six months in prison over the incident.
He was earlier arraigned on charges bordering on criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and culpable homicide.
The governors called on President Muhammadu Buhari to go tough on criminal elements in the society.
