Congratulatory messages have started pouring in to former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu, on his victory at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election.
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State took the lead in sending in his congratulatory message to Tinubu, shortly after the returning officer of the primary election, Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State announced the results.
Ganduje who personally signed his message said the emergence of Tinubu as a flagbearer of the APC in the 2023 general election would be a victory for the Nigeria project.
Also, former Vice President Atiku and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on his verified Twitter handle, congratulated Tinubu for emerging victorious at the APC presidential primary held on Wednesday in Eagle Square, saying “it has been a hard fought contest, but that you prevailed confirms your tenacity.”
A presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dele Momdu in his Twitter handle also congratulated Tinubu for picking the APC ticket. Momodu said, “the 2023 presidential race will now be a straight fight, a battle between two old buddies, Tinubu and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of our great party.”
The All Progressives Congress (APC) on which platform Tinubu will contest the 2023 presidential election equally congratulated the former Lagos State governor for picking its ticket. It said on its Twitter handle, “Congratulations to our Election Presidential Candidate. Victoria Acerta.”
The main opposition party, the PDP also congratulated Tinubu, but boasted to Tinubu that he would be a good loser.
