Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has said PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has told so many lies about him in his last interview.
He revealed this while briefing journalists at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Friday.
Mr Atiku who defeated Wike at the PDP primaries, allegedly made false statements during his recent interview on Arise TV last week.
The relationship between Atiku and Wike soured when the former refused to pick the latter as a running mate. Atiku picked Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Wike said contrary to reports, the former vice president was yet to begin a reconciliation move despite claims on pages of newspapers that a committee had been set up to meet with him.
“He (Atiku) appeared before Arise Television, see the statements he made. So many lies were told,” Wike said.
The Rivers governor said, “I have decided to be quiet because PDP is a party I love so much. I have moved on to conclude my social contract with the people of Rivers. However, it is time to let Nigerians know the truth.”
“I am not a slave and will not be a slave. I am freeborn of the country,” he said. He (Atiku) appeared before Arise Television, see the statements he made. So many lies were told.”
