The headquarters of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games organizers are being searched by French police.
The raids, according to officials, are part of two preliminary corruption investigations.
According to the BBC, the police are investigating claims of favoritism and misuse of public funds in the awarding of construction contracts.
According to a representative for the Paris 2024 organizing committee, the organization is “fully cooperating with the investigators.”
According to the BBC’s Hugh Schofield in Paris, anti-corruption detectives arrived unannounced at the headquarters of the Olympic organizing committee in Saint-Denis, a Paris suburb, as well as the offices of Solideo, the state organization in charge of building projects for the games, on Tuesday.
The PNF, the French judicial organization in charge of investigating financial fraud, later confirmed to the BBC that their searches were being conducted across various sites concerning the two organizations.
The 2024 Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11, with the Paralympics following in September.
The police raids on Tuesday are the latest incident to hurt France’s Olympic movement and sports in general in recent months.
In May, France’s National Olympic Committee President Brigitte Henriques resigned in a move that surprised many sports experts.
No reason was given for Ms Henriques’ decision, but it came amid reports of intense infighting in the organisation.
Earlier in the year, the bosses of France’s football and rugby federations stood down following high-profile scandals.
