A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe has accused the party leadership of embracing ace “enemies” while ignoring those who worked for its emergence.
He was reacting to the red carpet treatment accorded to the former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain for crossing over into APC on Thursday.
Fani-Kayode, one of the staunchest critics of the ruling party, was received by President Muhammadu Buhari and the party leadership at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
“APC reward(s) enemies. They pamper enemies. This life no balance at all,” Igbokwe, a former APC spokesperson in Lagos, lamented via a series of posts on his Facebook page.
He said that he, along with many loyal party chieftains, who put their lives on the line for the party have not be rewarded, while “political charlatans” are welcomed to the fold with pomp and pageantry.
Igbokwe said “Abuja has not given me a phone call talk-less of inviting me for a coffee with the president.
“There are countless number of APC die-hards who are 100 per cent better than FFK. Nobody has remembered them. Not even a recharge card, not even a bottle of coke, not even thank you”.
