Africans and Americans will be honored at the Afro Award in Los Angeles, California, including Sen. Ademola Jackson-Adeleke, Chief Tajudeen Amoo-Adeleke.
Popular musician, David Adedeji Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, who is mourning his three year old son at the moment is also among the Awardees.
Mr. Taiwo Oduala, the founder and executive producer of The Afro Awards, stated as much in a statement.
The First Lady of Sierra Leone, Mrs. Fatima Maada, Ayuko Babu, the founder and CEO of the Pan African Film Festival, and Seye Kehinde, a well-known Nigerian Journalist, will also receive awards.
On Sunday, November 6, at Regal La Live 1000 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, California 90015, USA, the most anticipated event of the year, the Afro Awards 2022, is scheduled to be televised live.
The award’s major goal, according to Mr. Oduala, is to help those who have excelled in the humanitarian cause in a variety of ways.
He claims that since their establishment, the Afro Awards have hosted and recognized more than 5,000 people in the forefront of philanthropy and humanitarianism in American and African communities.
Oduala, who is also a film director, listed some of the 2022 awardees, including Masika Kalysha (VH1’s Love & Hip Hop; We TV’s Growing Up Hip Hop), Curtis Young (Son of Dr. Dre), and others.
Others include His Royal Majesty Oba Yisa Olusola Olaniyan, Lea Cher Pump, Hubert Nakitare, a hip-hop artist and activist, and Tina Weisinger, the creator of the HAPAwards (Humanitarian and Founder of AHBEAH Awards)
The main event will begin at 7:00 p.m., followed by an after party at 10:00 p.m., according to the director. Red carpet arrivals begin at 5:00 p.m.
Masika Kalysha, a Love & Hip Hop Star on VH1, is slated to host the event this year, according to him.
