Son of former Ogun State governor and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olumide Osoba, has picked the party’s ticket for a fourth term after he emerged unopposed at the primaries which held across the constituency, on Saturday.
Osoba will represent Obafemi Owode/Abeokuta North/Odeda Federal Constituency in Ogun Central Senatorial District.
A former Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, also won the primary as the APC candidate for Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
She garnared 25,167 votes in a sweeping victory in the 21 wards that make up the Federal Constituency to clinch the ticket.
The Party’s Electoral Officer, Wale Ajayi, who announced the results in the presence of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials, security officials and party stakeholders at Ifo RCM 1, said “Adeleye garnered 17,286 votes from Ifo Local Government Area and 7,881 votes from Ewekoro Local Government Area, totaling
25,167 votes”
Others who won the party’s tickets was incumbent lawmaker, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, representing Imeko Afon Federal Constituency.
Isiaka clinched the APC ticket to seek a second term in the House of Representatives.
However, there was a hot contest in Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, where the incumbent lawmaker, Afolabi Afuwape, was challenged by four aspirants — Sodirudeen Ayodeji, Abdul-Akeem Ademolake, Hon. Lanre Edun and Tolulope Fijayo Ayinla Philips.
Afuape was eventually declared winner after polling 12,633 valid votes across the 15 wards of the constituency, defeating his closest rival, Tolulope Philips, who secured 760 votes.
