Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is expected to deliver the convocation lecture at the maiden combined convocation of Sokoto State University on Friday.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Sani Dangoggo disclosed this during a pre-convocation press briefing on Tuesday.
He said three important personalities would be awarded honorary Doctorate Degrees during the event. They are: the Emir of Dutse, Dr. Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi; the Chairman of BUA Group of Company, Abdussamad Isiyaka Rabi’u, and the pioneer Pro Chancellor of the University, late Umaru Ali Shinkafi, would bag posthumous degree.
The VC said the university has graduated 1,473 students since its establishment seven year ago. He added that 36 of the graduates bagged first class, 529 Second class upper division, 894 bagged Second Class lower, and 14 Third Class division.
Dangoggo said all the 23 courses run by the institution have received full accreditation from the National University Commission (NUC).
