Former Governor of Benue State Samuel Ortom has expressed sadness over the death of his former Principal Private Secretary, Dr. Stephen Amase.
Ortom’s spokesperson, Terver Akase, in a statement on Tuesday said Ortom described Amase’s death as a personal loss and a void that will be difficult to fill.
“Dr Stephen Amase was not just a dedicated and loyal aide to me; he was an invaluable member of our team and an exceptional individual who touched the lives of many. His unwavering commitment, work ethic, and diligence were second to none,” the former Governor said.
Ortom recalled that Dr Amase displayed professionalism, competence, and dedication to duty as his Principal Private Secretary.
“His organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to navigate complex situations with ease were instrumental to the successes recorded by our administration between 2015 and 2023. His pivotal role in coordinating and managing the affairs of my office will forever remain fresh in our memories,” he said.
The former governor consoled the bereaved family, telling them that Dr Amase, their son, father, and uncle has left behind a legacy of excellent public service which will forever be etched on the minds of those who knew him.
Dr. Amase died on Monday, October 23, 2023, after a brief illness in Abuja.
