Emergency officials have recovered one body from the ruins of the building which collapsed in the Yaba area of Lagos State on Saturday.
A three-storey building on Akanbi Crescent, close to the University of Lagos, which was still under construction had collapsed.
Officials from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency had arrived at the scene to begin rescue operations.
It is still not clear the number of people trapped in the rubble of the collapsed building.
The LASEMA Director-General, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said that the recovered person from the rubble was an adult male.
He said the emergency responders recovered the body following swift deployment of the agency’s heavy duty equipment.
