Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has urged Muslims in the state to embrace love, peace, and mutual respect which Ramadan represents.
Ododo made the admonition in his Ramadan message he posted on his Facebook page on Saturday.
He encouraged all the citizens to set aside their religious and ethnic differences and embrace each other in love and respect for one another.
According to the governor “Let us use this opportunity to strengthen our bonds as a people and work together for the continued progress and unity of our dear state.
“I also call upon my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters to dedicate this period to fervent prayers for the peace, security, and development of Kogi State and our beloved nation, Nigeria.
“Ramadan is a sacred time of reflection, devotion, and self-discipline. It reminds us of the virtues of patience, sacrifice, and generosity; values that strengthen our faith and foster a spirit of compassion for those in need.”
“As we observe fasting and engage in spiritual purification, let us remember that true devotion is not only in abstaining from food and drink but also in showing compassion, promoting justice, and fostering harmony within our communities.
“May Allah (SWT) accept our fasting, prayers, and good deeds. May He grant us the strength to emerge from this Ramadan spiritually renewed and more united as a people,” he said.
