Former President Olusegun Obasanjo will chair the National Summit of All Opposition Political Party Leaders in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
The event will hold at the Banquet Hall of the government house on Saturday.
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo is hosting the event with the theme ‘That We May Work Together for a United Opposition to Sustain Our Democracy’.
Organisers of the summit said at end, they are expected to forge a united front to address Nigeria’s pressing socio-economic and security challenges, while strengthening democratic institutions.
A former chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Chidi Odinkalu; and a former member of the House of Representatives Usman Bugaje would deliver talks on the challenges of sustainable democracy and good governance in Nigeria.
A former resident electoral commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mike Igini, will present a paper on ensuring free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria; while Professor of Political Economy, Pat Utomi, will discuss building a productive, dynamic and efficient national economy for Nigeria.
A security and intelligence expert, Kabir Adamu, will speak on “the tragedy of widespread insecurity in Nigeria”.

The event is seen as a significant step by opposition figures towards building consensus and presenting a credible alternative ahead of future electoral cycle
