The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has described the northern minority ethnic groups’ support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 as patriotic.

Yilwatda stated this when he received the leadership of the Northern Nigeria Minorities Group (NNMG), led by its Convener, Chief Jacob Edi, at the APC national secretariat on Monday in Abuja.

Yilwatda, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr Mustapha Dawaki, said all initiatives to support the Tinubu-led government were well-considered, as the administration meant well for the country.

He said the group’s initiative to support Tinubu’s re-election reflected a deep appreciation of his good work and showed that the group was concerned about the country’s development.

The APC national chairman commended the group for investing time and resources to promote the interest of the Tinubu-led APC administration.

Earlier, NNMG’s convener had explained that the group was formed to support good initiatives aimed at improving the lots of the citizenry.

He said that the group had observed how the Tinubu-ed administration had been fair in the allocation of projects and appointments of key personnel in government on the bases of merit and objectivity.

According to him, the northern minority ethnic groups in the country have benefitted from a number of projects and appointments under Tinubu’s government.

He listed some of the projects to include: the North-Central Development Commission, Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia, Kaduna State and Nigeria College of Aviation Technology in Kwara.

Edi said the group represented the over 200 minority ethnic groups in the North, with members spread across all the 19 northern states.

“We are ready to work day and night to ensure that President Tinubu not only win a second term, but delivers a resounding unchallengeable victory that will silence doubters and consolidate progress,” he stated.

At the end of the courtesy visit, the group presented a symbolic membership card to the APC National Chairman and a letter requesting him to be its patron.
