“I mourn the passing of our renowned Islamic scholar and leader, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi — a great icon of Islamic scholarship whose light shone on millions of Muslims across Nigeria and beyond.

“Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s lifetime of service, his dedication to the Qur’an, tireless preaching, spiritual leadership over the Tijaniyya movement, and work establishing Qur’anic schools and humanitarian outreach changed lives and strengthened the faith of generations.”

Similarly, the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of renowned Islamic scholar and global Tijaniyyah spiritual leader, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.

He said Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi devoted his century-long life propagating Islam and immensely contributed to the study and understanding of the Qur’an, Hadith, Islamic jurisprudence, and the spiritual traditions of Sufism.

“Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s mastery of Islamic texts, combined with remarkable spiritual insight, distinguished him as a true guide for Muslims within and beyond Nigeria. His teachings enriched countless lives and will continue to illuminate generations to come,” Governor Yahaya said.

Governor Yahaya extended the condolences of the Northern Governors’ Forum to the family of the deceased, the Tijaniyyah community and the entire Muslim Ummah over what he described as a monumental loss.

He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the eminent scholar eternal rest and reward his lifetime of devotion with Aljannatul Firdaus.
