The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has refuted reports that it plans to revoke the licences of Unity, Polaris, and Keystone banks.
In a post on its social media pages on Tuesday, the bank said the content of the reports did not emanate from it and so were fake.
The reports of the planned revocation of the licences of the three banks followed Monday’s revocation of Heritage Bank’s licence.
The CBN, in making the decision, cited the bank’s inability to improve its financial performance.
The revocation, according to the apex bank, was a reflection of its continued dedication to take all necessary steps to ensure the safety and soundness of Nigeria’s financial system.
