This is just as it denied that it had a dispute with independent petrol marketers over an alleged subsidy on PMS.
There were reports that fuel marketers under the aegis of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) were in dispute with the NNPC over payment of subsidy by the government.
However, in a statement on Wednesday, signed by spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, the NNPC said: “NNPC Ltd emphasises it has not clashed with any party.
“The publication sought confirmation on alleged subsidy reduction, to which NNPC responded that subsidy has been entirely removed.”
Recently, the World Bank accused the NNPC of not being transparent about the financial gains from fuel subsidy removal and that subsidy was still being paid by the government, which was why petrol was still being sold at the current market price.
