After three years of intense dispute, the Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST) has reclaimed the collection of stamp duty charges from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
The two federal government agencies have been in at loggerhead over which responsibility it is to collect stamp duty.
However, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami disclosed on Thursday that the lingering face-off has been resolved, noting that the statutory role of NIPOST in that regard has been established.
Pantami commended the management of NIPOST and other stakeholders for the resilience, leading to amicable resolution of the crisis.
He said NIPOST would be unbundled into three companies to boost its operations, while reiterating the commitment of the federal government to transforming service.
