Nine persons died and one other injured in an accident involving a Golf 3 saloon car and a tricycle in Birniwa Local Government, Jigawa State.
The accident happened along Nguru road, on Friday.
The driver of the commercial vehicle was said to have lost control, resulting in a head on collision with the tricycle.
The spokesperson of the Jigawa State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Adamu Shehu, said the accident involved Golf 3 saloon with registration number CZ865RBC and tricycle with registration No. 827NGR.
He said the victims were rushed to Birniwa General Hospital for medical attention where all the nine persons were confirmed dead.
Shehu said all the corpses were handed over to their families and were buried in accordance with Islamic injunction.
